Our UN Strategy
The United Nations system provides multiple mechanisms through which the RSNB-GIE can advance Sabah's cause. From the Special Committee on Decolonisation to the Human Rights Council's Universal Periodic Review, from Special Rapporteurs to treaty body review processes, we are pursuing a comprehensive strategy of engagement across all relevant UN mechanisms.
Special Committee on Decolonisation
We have submitted formal petitions to the UN Special Committee on Decolonisation (C-24) requesting that Sabah's case be placed back on the international decolonisation agenda. Our submission argues that the 1963 decolonisation process was fundamentally flawed and that the right of Sabahans to self-determination remains unfulfilled.
Human Rights Mechanisms
We regularly submit shadow reports and stakeholder submissions to UN human rights bodies examining Malaysia's record. These submissions document the ongoing violations of Sabahan rights and ensure that international experts are aware of the human rights situation facing Sabah's people.
