Proclamation of RSNB-GiE

The following proclamation records the public declaration of the Republic of Sabah North Borneo Government-in-Exile (RSNB-GiE), proclaimed in Melbourne, Australia, on 13 September 2025, with formal effect from 16 September 2025.

This document sets out the founding basis, public purpose, and representative commitment of RSNB-GiE as a peaceful and lawful body established to advance the national rights and future self-determination of the people of Sabah.

DECLARATION OF ESTABLISHMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SABAH NORTH BORNEO GOVERNMENT-IN-EXILE (RSNB-GiE)
Proclaimed on 13 September 2025
Effective on 16 September 2025
Melbourne, Australia.

Preamble
We, the representatives of the people of Sabah (North Borneo), assembled in exile and acting in unity with our people at home and abroad, mindful of our duty to safeguard the dignity, rights, and national future of our people, hereby make this solemn Declaration.

We affirm that the question of Sabah’s political status remains unresolved in law and history, and that the people of Sabah must be entitled to determine their own political future through peaceful, lawful, and democratic means.

We further affirm that a disciplined and internationally responsible representative platform is necessary to uphold Sabah’s cause, preserve national continuity, engage the international community, and prepare the intellectual, legal, and organisational foundations for a future democratic outcome.

Declaration
Accordingly, we hereby declare:

That the Republic of Sabah North Borneo Government-in-Exile (RSNB-GiE) is proclaimed as a representative body formed to uphold and advance the national rights and future self-determination of the people of Sabah.

That the ceremonial proclamation of this decision is made on 13 September 2025, with the formal establishment of RSNB-GiE to take effect on 16 September 2025.

That RSNB-GiE shall:
• uphold and advance the right of the people of Sabah to determine their own political future
• represent Sabah’s cause in international, diplomatic, legal, and political forums through peaceful and lawful means
• promote public awareness, historical understanding, and disciplined national preparation
• encourage responsible thought and planning on governance, justice, democracy, and nation-building
• continue its mission with seriousness, continuity, and responsibility until the people of Sabah are able to determine their future through a lawful and democratic process
